The recommended treatment for\nGISTs with symptoms or sizes larger than 2cm is surgery to remove the tumours. Surgery can be done in a minimally invasive manner with laparoscopic (or keyhole) surgery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the tumours are large or involve other organs, targeted treatments may be prescribed to shrink the tumours prior to surgery.
